Paint the Front Door
I’m sure you might be familiar with this trick, but it’s such an easy way to give your home a new, fresh look. Painting your front door in a bold color can add personality to a front entrance on a budget.

And if a bright color isn’t for you, try a deeper, richer tone, or even something neutral with a just a hint of color.

Replace the Hardware
The best thing to compliment your new door color is some new hardware! A stylin’ door handle and a new door bell or knocker can really give your front entrance a fresh update.
I love the clean modern straight neutral lines. But of course, your door and home style can influence your selection. This brass door handle below looks fabulous on this bright colored green door!

Warm Up the Concrete with Layered Door Mat Rug
Adding a lovely door mat and rug combo is an easy update too. It’s one of my favorite ways to freshen up the front door. A new door mat is fun! But layered on top of a styling rug is even better. Wanna see how to layer them? Of course you do!
So here’s a few examples of how I’ve layered doormat and rugs for the seasons.

Add Some Life and Color
So the great thing about flowers and planters is they come in all shapes, sizes and colors, and you can change the plantings to suit the season. Also a bright flower is a great way to add a pop of color to your front entry, and it’s temporary, so no commitment needed!

But don’t want to buy any new planters? No problem! Consider cleaning up old planters with a coat of paint — or change the color altogether for a fun new look.

Pull Up a Seat
If you have the space, a bench, small set of chairs or a side table by the entry is a welcoming addition, and convenient for quick visits. In addition, seating areas are also a great place to sit and enjoy the front yard view of your home.

You can see how I added a little seating to the side of our front door below. This is one of our favorite places to rest our feet on summer evenings!
Another benefit of seating right by the front door is how useful it can be on those days when you’re fumbling to find your keys with an armful of groceries.

The Little Details Matter
Updating the littlest things can really go along way in giving your home new curb appeal. For instance, a new set of house numbers or perhaps a new modern mailbox is an easy, low budget change people will notice!

Light it Up
And last but definitely not least, new lighting. Now that you’ve made all these changes you want to showcase them in the best possible way. New lighting not only updates your homes like, it also give your front door pretty illumination!

Add more lights or just replace your existing bulbs with brighter ones. Consider using energy saving products to keep your costs down like solar operated light bulbs. And don’t forget to include solar powered lights along pathways to help guide guests along in the evenings.
