Fall Front Porch 2018 – Featuring Plum

| |

With a few simple items, it’s easy to create a beautiful fall front porch that’s just as cozy as it looks!

Fall officially arrived the past weekend and now the world just seems right! It’s my absolute favorite season. And I’m so happy that I’m not the only one who loves to decorate for fall! Because today I’m honored to join my friend, Krista from the Happy Housie and so many other talented bloggers for a fall porch edition of Seasonal Simplicity. My fall front porch is still grounded in my love for neutrals but this year, I added some plum for fun!

For some reason, those plum chrysanthemums caught my eye. And once they did, I knew they were going to be the star of our fall front porch. I actually got three of them. Two to flank the front door and one for the side seating area.

THE FRONT  DOOR

I always struggle with decorating our front door because of the lack of symmetry– it totally throws me off. Why, oh why, couldn’t the original builder flank the door with two sidelight windows?! Come on…it would have made my life like a thousand times easier! Since I won’t be blowing up any brick around my front door any time soon, I try to make the best of it.

So this year, I dressed the door with pumpkins, eucalyptus and mums. I like to call those three the perfect fall dream team. The buffalo check rug paired with the hello door mat…is just the icing on the (pumpkin) cake! 😉

I loved the simple look of my DIY fall pumpkin topiary — find the tutorial on how to make those here — but I decided to jazz them up just a touch with a few more pumpkins. The plum mums placed in the middle add a nice pop of color that says….Fall is here baby!

We don’t usually hang on our front porch too much. But this past week, we have been visiting this space a ton. Heck, we even ate our dinner out here last night. That was a first for our family!

THE SEATING AREA

Keeping with my fall plum theme, I had to add some new velvet plum pillows to our seating area. Of course you’ll still see my beloved buffalo check pillows mixed in there too. My love for that check runs deep you know. 😉

These velvet pillows are so soft too! I’m really tempted to take them off the porch and sneak them into the living room.

Speaking off soft, I almost forget to mention the new chevron rug I got for the fall front porch too. It’s incredibly soft on the tootsies and I just love that chevron pattern. I think in a month or so, I’m going to move it indoors. Maybe into the boys bedroom because I have plans to completely make over their space. But all the details on that is for another post! 😉

So, have you started decorating your front door or porch?

Even though we rarely have visitors to our home, I’m so glad I was able to share our fall front porch with you. I just wish I could offer you a cup of coffee (or a pumpkin spiced latte) and we could sit face to face. 🙂 Happy fall friend!
