Summer Home Tour 2019: Part 1

|

Welcome to a simple summer home tour featuring our front porch and kitchen.

I have some great news! Only 10 more days until summer officially arrives. Who’s been waiting all year long for this season? ME! I’m so excited for the warm, lazy days of summer!

Once again, Iโ€™ve teamed up with the lovely Marty from A Stroll Thru Life along with 29 other talented bloggers to share our summer home decor with you. This is one of my favorite tours to be in and Iโ€™m always so grateful and thrilled to be invited!

If you just hopped over from Cristina at RemodelaCasa, welcome! I love her blog and her fabulous decor– she is so talented!! So letโ€™s get this summer home tour started with one of my favorite outdoor spaces. This post contains affiliate links.

Welcome to our summer front porch!

If this is your first time visiting Inspiration for Moms, let me tell you a little about my decor style.  Layered rugs are my thing. Black and white is the perfect color combo. And simple and practical is always my goal!

Simple is exactly what I had in mind when it came to decorating the front porch this summer. My whole inspiration was based off the gorgeous striped rug at the front door. Paired with a cute Hello mat and my layered door combo is the perfect decor to welcome summer guests like you!

Once I had that in place the black and white decor ideas just kept flowing through my mind! I then did some shopping of my home and around town to get all the accessories gathered up. And I love how the whole look came together.

You probably seen this patio furniture before. It’s been out here for about three years and was starting to look a little worn. But last weekend I revamped it with a little teak oil and it’s lookin’ so much better!

Fun Porch Art

This summer, I even created a fun little eucalyptus art for the back brick wall. Basically it’s a faux stem placed inside a plexiglass frame. It adds a little more pop of green to the porch, which is really nice. But the best part, I don’t even need to water it! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think those new modern lanterns are my favorite addition to the porch. I had been looking for some new lanterns for this area for years and when I found these I knew they would be perfect.

To tie in with the eucalyptus in my art, I pulled my favorite wreath back out of storage to take center stage on the porch!

Wouldn’t this corner be perfect for a giant planter full of blooms? I’ve been searching for the right pot at a price I’m willing to pay. But so far, no luck.  For now, I guess it’s just a great spot for the FedEx and UPS drivers. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Welcome to our summer kitchen!

Now that you’re here, come inside and take a peek at the kitchen. The decor in here stayed really simple for the summer with the only new additions being a pretty peony arrangement.

I just can’t resist buying those peonies when they arrive in the summer at Trader Joe’s. I’m always asked by the clerks if I’m buying them for a special occasion. I’m like nope — just cause I love them!

Well, I guess there was one more change to the kitchen. A couple weeks back I gave my kitchen counter organization tray a much needed refresh. The look of the tray went from rustic to a more clean, modern style. I love the new tray decor and now this has become my favorite little corner of the kitchen! ๐Ÿ˜‰
