Fall Decorating Outdoors
Fall decorating outdoors can be simple or complex as you want – I just want to give you lots of ideas!
We are now officially on the last week of this four-part fall design series. Just in case you missed a week, you can find week one HERE talking all about fall textiles, week two HERE on favorite fall decor and week three HERE on my favorite fall art. This week I’m talking about my favorite ways of fall decorating outdoors. This fun fall design series, hosted by Ashley at Cherished Bliss, also includes three other fabulous ladies! So be sure to check out their favorite fall decorating tips at the end of this post.
Planters
Think outside the traditional planter! This year for my front porch I used some large baskets to hold my giant white mums. The weaved texture is such a fun new look for my plants.
Although I’ve known to be a fan of big black urns too! No matter the planter style you choose, planters are always a great fit for a beautiful fall porch.

Wreaths & Lanterns
Two of my favorite fall decorating outdoor items I love to use are wreaths and lanterns. Even though lanterns are often filled with candles, last year I filled mine with mini pumpkins.
Traditional candles can be pretty as well, as seen on my fall front porch from a couple of years back. The extra twinkle from the candles can really make any fall outdoor decor super elegant and very cozy.
Adding a wreath is also a super simple way to add fall to your outdoors with hardly any effort. So if you want to be fall festive but not go all out, my suggestion is to just find a gorgeous fall wreath and call it done. 🙂

Layered Doormats
Now this is an area I really love to go all out. Why? I can’t really say except for I love to play with rug and doormat combos. It’s weird, I know. But so true. There’s just so many pretty fall combinations to try out!
So of course, when it comes to fall decorating outdoors, I have a ton of layered fall doormat combos to inspire you and get your front door step ready for all your guests!
If you would prefer more neutral rug and doormat combos that can be perfect for fall but also can be used year around – check out these combos below:
