How To Create An Easy Floral Spring Door Basket DIY
Give your front door some lovely floral decor with this spring door basket DIY. Only takes about 10 minutes to create!
The warm temps have me craving gorgeous spring blooms! But it’s still early so I’m making some of my own spring for my front porch. This year I decided to skip the wreath and go with a fun spring door basket DIY.
Since our weather is still very unpredictable I dug through my stash of lovely faux flowers and came up with a sweet combination of creamy white ranunculus and peonies.
Add some eucalyptus for a wonderful green contrast and this is the result – a unique spring decoration for my front door that I adore!
This simple front door decor was so affordable and only took me about 10 minutes to put together. Let me show you how I did it!

Why Make A Spring Flower Basket For The Front Door?
One of the reasons I love this spring flower basket is it’s unique look. Don’t get me wrong, I love a gorgeous spring wreath. But this arrangement is such a fun change from the more traditional diy spring wreath.
I also love the texture and detail the wicker basket adds to our front door.
So if you have never tried a hanging basket before, this could be a nice new look for you!
Now that you know what supplies are involved, let me show you how to make the floral door basket decor!
How To Make A Floral Spring Door Basket
- Start by inserting the faux eucalyptus into the basket. 3-4 stems should work well.
- Next, insert the faux white ranunculus. Insert about 6 stems as this flower will be the star (or the best part) of the hanging basket.
- Then add a little more creamy white in the door basket with my favorite spring flowers, peonies. Fill in gaps or just add where you’d like a little more white.
- Finally, finish the spring door basket DIY by adding in the seeded eucalyptus stems. Place several in the front spilling over the front of the basket, along with one or two in the center and perhaps even one in the very back of the basket. Just go for balance.

Where To Shop For Great Hanging Baskets and Faux Flowers
When I started to search for my hanging basket, the first place I looked was Amazon. Lot’s of pretty basket options! But I also looked at Target, Michaels, Ballard Designs, Hobby Lobby and Walmart. You could also pop into your local thrift stores to look for a more vintage basket.

When it comes to picking my favorite flowers, I have some great shopping places as well.
Afloral has to be my favorite place to look for faux flowers, but they can be more on the pricy side. So I wait for sales or shop Pottery Barn, Amazon or Michaels.
