Simple Fall Decor
No need to go crazy to achieve a warm, cozy fall feeling in your home. A few touches of some simple fall decor is all you need!
The official first day of fall is tomorrow – who’s excited? You know I am! As you know, last week was actually the start of our fall home tours. So if you missed seeing the basement fall home tour, be sure to check it out. I shared some very simple fall decor that’s easy to recreate for your own home.
And today, I’m sharing even more simple fall decor! I’ve teamed up with Krista from the Happy Housie and friends to show you our fall kitchen and dining room. If you are visiting from Taryn at Taryn Whiteaker Designs, welcome! I’m so glad you are here.
So let’s get this fall home tour started with a visit to the kitchen.
Kitchen Simple Fall Decor
Our kitchen stays pretty much the same all year round except for a few accessory changes. This fall I added some new items that I needed, some I just wanted and all were welcomed! 😉
The biggest change here is new rug I had been wanting for years. I finally decided to go for it when I saw it on sale at Labor day. I love it for several reasons. One – stripes – need I say more. Two, the texture and design are super fun. And three, it’s in my favorite black and white neutrals. So yea – real happy with this new decor piece!
I also updated my kitchen canisters. They were needed because my previous jars were on the rather small side. These metal lidded glass canisters can store all the flour and sugar! And I love their modern look.
Another new addition was a metal book stand. It’s been something I’ve been needing for awhile but I never found a style I liked – until my eyes caught this one! It’s simple design makes it easy to use and easy to put away as well. 🙂
My organized kitchen tray next to the stove got a mini makeover as well. A new rattan tray, gray concrete crock and a stylish brass peppermill all add a fun new look to this area of the kitchen counter. And I have to say – the pepper mill is really fun to use!
Kitchen Pumpkins and Coffee Too
The other side of the kitchens decor is pretty much the same as this summer. I did move a few items around and added a few real pumpkins.
Oh – and we added a new espresso machine. It’s been fun to play with trying to achieve that perfect cup of coffee!
Kitchen Sources: range | microwave | rug | glass canisters | scoops | metal book stand | rattan tray | gray concrete crock | brass pepper mill | oil bottles | salt container | compote bowl | round serving board | slate board | lamp | planter | espresso machine | milk frother | grinder | wood bowl | counter stools |
Dining Room Simple Fall Decor
Now, let’s tour the simple fall decor touches in the dining room. This rooms decor didn’t change much for fall – just a couple of switches.
The faux golden aspen stems were not planned for this room. If you remember from my fall decorating design boards, I was featuring a new faux turning oak branch.
Well, even though I ordered the oak branch back on August 1st, it still hasn’t arrived. So when I clicked on the order status – now it says it will be shipped in March?! Say what? In other words, the order is not coming anytime soon. So bummer – I had to use faux stems from last year.
Don’t get me wrong – I love my yellow aspen leaves, I just wanted a different look. 🙂
The dining room sideboard got a little update with a new whitewashed compote bowl. I had planned on filling it with a few faux stems but I think some mini pumpkins looks just as nice.
So since the last time I shared this room (last spring home tour) we have updated our table end chairs with these upholstered armchairs that roll.
This end of the table is my favorite spot to sit. And if you only knew how many times I have to roll over to the patio door to let Charlie and Winston out and back in. And out again and back in. Repeat. Repeat. 🙂
