Basement Family/Play Room Makeover – Week 4

Hey friends! It’s time to share an update on the basement/family play room makeover. I’ve actually made some progress in this space. I know…you are shocked. But before I show you a peek at what I did this past week, I want to share links to the previous weeks in case you’ve missed any….

So that brings this makeover up to date and to week four. Remember last week, when I asked for help deciding on the colors of some rattan baskets, natural or grey? Well, Vera left a comment full of great suggestions. She said maybe I should paint the baskets the same as my accent color– to add some cohesive pop. I love that idea, Vera! What’s my accent color for the basement? I’m so glad you asked because I’ve been keeping that a little secret. How about Sea Star by Benjamin Moore? 

I know it looks a little off. I did two coats and it needs a third…but guys! I love this color. It’s such a cozy, blue grey. And by painting this one wall, I automatically gave the room some depth. Something it desperately needed because it is actually a small room. Paint people! It’s a home decorators magic trick. 😉 Oh and ignore all the stuff…that will all be gone next week too!

The rest of the room is going to be painted Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore. That is my project for the week ahead along with a few other things. Like having the sectional delivered and opening up these goodies from Uncommon Goods! Two weeks left and I have a ton to do. Work party at my house? Who’s in? Anyone? 

I can’t wait to head on over and see the progress of the other guest participants. I hope to show you some big changes next week. I will promise you…this room is going to look totally different in the end. Just hang with me! 🙂
