Now that Spring has arrived it’s time to freshen up the home with Spring touches. Today I’ve teamed up with Jenna from Wife in Progress along with a group of fabulous bloggers to show you our homes refreshed for Spring. If you are coming from Atta Girl Says, welcome! Wasn’t Amy’s Spring living room lovely? She’s a tough act to follow, but I will try my best. Today, I’m going to be showing you my front porch that has endured a long, cold Colorado winter now refreshed for Spring. So let’s start this tour! This post contains affiliate links for your shopping convenience. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.
I’ve been seeing blush pink everywhere this Spring so I thought it would be the perfect accent color to mix with some navy. I was lucky to find a super soft pink throw for chilly evenings.
I also found a fun blush pillow for the accompanying side chair. It pairs so nicely with my favorite buffalo check pillow.
The front door even got a little refresh too with the help of a new rug, door mat and a fun navy and gold dragonfly.
Refreshing the front porch for Spring doesn’t have to be expensive or time consuming. The process can be broken down into five easy steps. Let me show you how I did it…
5 Tips on How To Get Your Front Porch Spring Ready
Tip 1…
Basically, I start at ground level and work my way up. Literally. A beautiful rug is the perfect way to refresh a porch. I had this rug from last years Summer porch. I still love it, so I thought it would be perfect for this Spring too!
Tip 2…
Once the rug is placed, it’s time for the next layer…furniture. When selecting lounge furniture, I was looking for comfortable, will seat everyone and fits the patio. It was tricky for me to find the right sized bench, but I did and it was totally worth the extra search.
Tip 3…
After the furniture is selected, it’s time for the cushy additions like pillows and throws. Here, I mixed patterns and even color (when I added blush pink in the final photos). Typically, I try to stay with two neutral colors and add one accent color. Accessories are where you can really play with the decor!
Tip 4…
Now that the porch is comfy and cozy, it’s time to add some Spring decor. I added a fun ‘Hi’ sign and a little decorative ceramic dog planter. It has faux succulents planted in it because I do live in Colorado and it snowed just a few days ago. So I can’t really plant any new blooms just yet. But I am super excited to add some big ferns when it gets warmer…I just love those bushy green plants!
Accessories for the front porch can be any type of item from trays, lanterns and planters. Here are a few of my favorites…
Tip 5…
Give the front door some love too! Again…I started from the ground up. I found this super cute blue buffalo check rug and placed a fun mat on top. The layered look adds a nice pop of color and texture to the front door step.
Here are some great rug and mat combinations…
And I couldn’t forget the door, it needs a nice Spring detail too. Wreaths are popular but I chose to go with a simple hanging basket and some faux flowers.
Once I decided to go with pink blush as my accent color, I decided to add some cherry blossoms into my flower basket for a little pop of pink. Just for fun, I added a little navy and gold dragonfly too. A little ‘Spring Bling’ if you will! 😉
Here are some beautiful wreath and wall baskets…
I thought a little video showing how I did how each step, layer by layer, might be helpful. First see how the seating area transformed, then the front door. Of course, the finished porch has extra accessories that are not shown here…
I hope these five tips will help you get your front porch Spring ready fast!
