Thankful…

I am a little late in writing my Thankful Thursday entry, actually it is an hour away from being midnight. So I guess technically, I have almost missed Thursday altogether. But like the saying goes, better late than never!!

I don’t know if you are aware that this Saturday, May 9 is the Nation’s Largest One-Day Food Drive.The U.S. Postal Service is joining partners with the National Association of Letter Carries to support the NALC Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive.

When I think about this great cause, I am confronted with the realization of how often I take for granted all the food my family and I enjoy each and everyday. I don’t know what is like to go without a meal or to even wonder when I will eat my next meal. But there are tons of families out there who do know and we can help them.

If your family is blessed like mine, please reach out and be a blessing to others. To donate simply fill a bag with non-perishable items and then place the items by your mailbox. It will then be picked up by your letter carrier and delivered to your towns local food banks.

Today I am thankful for the opportunity to help others. I am thankful for my blessed life.
