Mornings can be hectic, especially Monday mornings!
Even though I’m usually in a hurry
I’m more than willing to spend time making a quality breakfast for my little man.

But when it comes to my own breakfast,
I’m guilty of sometimes skipping food and relying on a single cup of coffee.
I know! Coffee is awesome but it can only do so much. 🙂

I finally decided this lady needed to change her ways.
I was in Safeway last week and I grabbed a box of
Carnation Breakfast Essentials thinking it would pair beautiful with a green smoothie.
You know what? I was right!

This Strawberry Chocolate Banana Green Smoothie recipe

is packed full of protein, vitamins and calcium.
It’s a great breakfast solution for my busy mornings.
I’m telling you though, the absolute best part about this smoothie is that
it tastes like an ice cream milk shake!

The frozen banana and the Milk Chocolate Carnation Breakfast Essentials
are the powerhouses in this recipe.

Those two flavors combined with the sweetness of the frozen strawberries,
make the spinach completely unrecognizable.
Yes, the spinach is there. But you won’t even taste it!

This recipe is starting to become one of my all time favorites!

  1. The first time my friends got me to taste a green smoothie, I loved it. Its true— you cannot taste the spinach. Sometimes I just throw any old kind of lettuce into my smoothie. You can also use soy milk instead of yogurt. I really love my smoothies.

  2. I love adding spinach to my smoothies, I feel like it’s healthier that way no matter what stuff I put in it 🙂

Thanks for linking up at #homemattersparty this week!

  3. Pinning this. Sounds delicious. My problem with “green” smoothies isn’t always the taste, its the color. 🙁 I have to put it in a container I can’t see through.

  4. I never would have thought to “doctor” up a packet! I drink green smothies all the time and get tired of them; this would be such a nice change!

Thanks for linking up to us on Throwback Thursday, and I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ll bring next week! 🙂
