Christmas Home Tour: Front Porch and Master Bedroom
Welcome to a neutral Christmas Home tour full of black, white and just a tiny hint of red.

Welcome to Christmas Home Tour week! Today I’ve teamed up with the lovely Jenna from Wife in Progress, along with thirty-three other bloggers to share the first part of my 2017 Christmas Home Tour.
This season, I have several home tours lined up. So to not bombard you with pictures, I’m going to break them up and show you various rooms in our home. Today I’ll be sharing our Front Porch, Entryway and the Master Bedroom.

This year I wanted to keep with a very neutral color theme. So throughout the tour you will see lots of black and white. The only place you will see a tiny pop of red is the front porch.
When I laid eyes on that Happy Merry Bucket, I just knew it would be perfect for my door. So I decided that I little touch of red is never a bad thing, right? It’s just so stinkin’ cute and a nice change from a traditional wreath.
I filled it with some fresh evergreen swag from Trader Joe’s. Actually all the fresh greenery on my porch and inside the home is from there. 🙂
Our previous door mat was pretty worn out, so I was super excited to replace it with this pretty plaid one.
In the sitting area of the porch, I placed my JOY sign (that you saw in last year’s tour) over the bench.
To compliment the red on the front door, I decided to include a red throw and tray. And it looks like Santa is a little early this year too, with a few presents already appearing. 😉
For the side chair, I added a pop of fun with a cute little buffalo check pillow. If you are a lover of that big black and white check pattern, good news! This Christmas Home Tour has a little bit of that in every room.

Now that you’ve seen our porch, come on in to the entryway…
See… I told you! I’m just in love with those buffalo check ottomans! I snagged them both on a great sale a few weeks ago knowing exactly where I would place them. They fit perfectly under my table and they add a nice pop of contrast to this space. I’ve only had a few visitors since getting my home all decorated for Christmas. But everyone, so far, has commented on those ottomans. 🙂 The lids come off for some extra storage too.
On top of the table I placed a few more presents and added some fresh greenery with lights. I also updated the wall with a new piece of art. But I will be showing you more about that later this week. 😉

And now let’s visit the last stop on today’s tour, the master bedroom…
The first change I made in here was new sheets. They are flannel with dark grey and white stripes. They’re perfect for the winter because hello— warm and cozy!
I wanted to change up the wall art over the bed too. So I added a few mini fresh wreaths and used some buffalo check ribbon to hang them. It think they add a nice amount of contrast to the room with the green and of course, the I love the sweet pine scent. That’s what Christmas is all about, right?!
Those big buffalo check pillow had to make there way back to this bed. Actually, they have never left this room and I don’t see them going anytime soon. 🙂
On the other side of the room, my little side chair got a nice addition of some buffalo check too.
And on the dresser I simply placed a village of white ceramic tea light houses. It’s the little things right? A few lit candles in them creates such a beautiful glow at night reflecting in the mirror.

Laura, I love the fresh greenery on your porch. And the cute Merry Christmas holder on the door is precious. I would never have thought that black and white works for Christmas, but it’s lovely in your home. The buffalo checks are a great idea and work beautifully throughout your home. Happy to meet up with you on the Home for Holidays Blog Hop.
Thank you so much Carol, for your sweet comments! Happy holidays to you!
Love all of your festive touches! That Happy Merry on the front door is adorable, and I love those ottomans!!
Thank you, Meg! I think I may just keep those ottomans there all year long. 😉 Merry Christmas!
Oh Laura, it’s all so beautiful! I didn’t realize how much I love black and white buffalo check until I saw this! I especially love your bedroom – I haven’t touched mine for the holidays (in fact, I’ve raided it and put most of the nice stuff into our newly revamped guest room) it’s looking a little sad. So now I’m pretty jealous of yours 🙂
Thank you so much for participating in this blog hop with me! Merry Christmas!!
