A Delish Chocolate Dish Recipe | Healthy Dessert

| |
I’m now into my third month of working out and counting calories.
You would think this exercise and diet thing would be getting easier! lol.
When you’re on a diet, dessert is almost always out of the question, right?
Well according to me, it doesn’t have to be!
I like my sweets so that’s why I am sharing with you
this healthy, chocolate dessert that is low on calories and full of goodness.

That’s right, it’s a bowl of chocolate that you get to eat!
If that’s not a treat, I don’t know what is?!
It’s elegant. It’s easy. It’s healthy.
And I bet….it’s going to be in your kitchen very soon! 🙂
All you need to make this chocolate dish is a bag
of chocolate chips and some foil muffin liners.
Oh and you will need a double boiler. But if you don’t have one, don’t worry.
You can instantly make one with a glass bowl and a saucepan.

Alright….let’s start cooking!

The first step is to melt your chocolate chips.
I placed a glass bowl on top of a saucepan filled with water.
Once the water was at a simmer, I poured my chocolate chips into the bowl.

When the chocolate started to melt, it was my cue to start stirring.
I kept stirring until the chocolate was super smooth and all the chips had melted.

The second step is to cover your liner.
Using a spoon, I scooped some chocolate into a foil muffin cup and
gently started brushing the chocolate goodness up the sides of the liner.
Once the liner was completely covered, I placed it inside the
refrigerator to harden and started on the next cup.

Once I had all six cups completely covered, I went back with one more coat of chocolate.
After about an hour, I gently removed the foil wrapping.
Then I left my little chocolate dishes in the fridge until it was time to indulge!

I decided to top each chocolate cup with 1/2 a cup of ice cream,
some chopped fruit and just a touch of chocolate syrup.
If you want even less calories, you could skip the ice cream altogether.

This sweet dessert totally satisfied all my cravings without an ounce of guilt. 🙂
Now that’s how dessert should be!
What’s your favorite dessert when you’re watching calories?

    1. Thanks, Jennifer! I’m not sure what the exact calorie count is because it would depend on the thickness of your chocolate cups. But if you only fill the cup with fresh fruit I would guess, somewhere around 200 calories a cup. 🙂
