Summer Home Tour 2021 | Part II

|

Even though summer hasn’t officially arrived just yet, the feel is totally in the air. The temp has been in the 90’s most of this week and I’ve been swatting mosquitos like crazy. Sounds like summer right?! And with summer comes new summer home tour!

So once again, I’m very honored to be joining my friend, Marty from the A Stroll Thur Life and so many other talented bloggers for Part II of our summer home tour. Did you happen to miss Part I? No worries – you can find it HERE. And if you are visiting from Cassie Bustamante, welcome and I’m so glad you stopped by!

This summer home tour is of a place that’s not inside our house – but it’s an area that we live in all summer long! So having said that, let’s start the tour off with a visit to our backyard lounge area. This post may contain affiliate links.

Summer Backyard Lounge Area

I’ve shared our backyard lounge area with you over the past two years, but never like this before. On this year’s summer home tour, I’m giving you an early morning view of our backyard deck. And it just so happens that I was able to catch our lilac bushes all in bloom as well!

Morning is one of our favorite times of day to enjoy this outdoor lounge area – especially for Chris and I. We each make a warm cup of coffee and then make our way outside.

This is where we can enjoy the comfortable cool temps of the day before the afternoon heat arrives. And when we can actually sit and talk because the boys are still sleeping. 🙂

The Best Seat – Out of the House

Even though our bench and side chairs are a couple of years old, they’re holding up well. And we’re still finding them soooo comfortable for lounging!

I did however, want a new outdoor rug this year. And I knew my rug color choice would dictate my color choices for all the other outdoor accessories. So when I found this reversible navy/gray striped rug, I grabbed it up!

The navy side is super pretty so I was going to pick it and then accessorize with navy. But then the gray side really grabbed me and I decided to let that side ride. Maybe next year it will get flipped! 🙂

So once gray was decided, I started looking around for some new outdoor pillows. I found these lovely woven textured light gray pillow covers and immediately knew they would be great!

Then I stumbled upon some reversible striped pillows and I was like – jackpot! You mean, I can have one pillow with two different styles of black and white stripes? Oh yea!

The Outdoor Lounge Area Florals

Unfortunately, the beautiful lilac blooms won’t last all summer so I put together a couple of planters with summer flowers to enjoy near our seats. I first mentioned these gorgeous supertunia silverberry flowers in Part I of our front porch summer home tour. They were just so pretty, I had to have some on the back deck too. 🙂

But of course, nothing beats beautiful lilac in bloom! The color, the sweet scent, I wish so badly they would bloom all summer long. Even Charlie can’t get enough of that sweet floral! 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this outdoor tour of our home. Like I mentioned before, this room may not be inside our home, but it’s where we like to live all summer long. In the mornings with coffee and good conversation, catching a quick lunch or enjoying the sunset after a long day. 🙂
