Strawberry Dream Pie
I think we’re all so excited to finally see Spring arrive. Yesterday it was actually snowing but I didn’t let that stop me from buying myself a pretty hydrangea bouquet. Want to know another way I’m going to ignore what’s happening outside? By eating some of this! My Strawberry Dream Pie is a wonderful no-bake treat that will help me forget all about that silly snow.
Besides being sweet and refreshing, this pie also has such a lovely presentation. To me it looks like a gorgeous spring flower with red strawberry “petals”. This dreamy pie starts with an easy store-bought graham cracker crust. I could make my own, but it would require an extra few steps. And this mamma of two has enough “steps” in her day! 😉 Next is the filling, a sweet cream cheese mixture combined with chopped strawberries. And finally, the most prettiest layer of all is the sliced strawberries on top.
All you need is six ingredients and about 20 minutes in the kitchen. The hardest part of this whole recipe is waiting an hour for the pie to just chill. 🙂 But then your reward is oh…so sweet!
Strawberry Dream Pie
Prep Time: 20 minutes Total Time: 1 hour 20 minutes (includes chill time)
Serves 10
Ingredients:
- 1 graham cracker crust
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 8-ounce block cream cheese
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups strawberries (1 cup sliced in thirds, 1 cup chopped)
Directions:
Slice and chop strawberries, set aside. Whip cream until it forms peaks. While that is whipping; mix cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in a medium bowl. Fold in the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture. Then add chopped strawberries. Combine well.
Spoon mixture into pie crust, smoothing top. Arrange sliced strawberries over pie. Chill for 1 hour or overnight.
This dessert looks so good. Just looking at the picture makes me want to run out to the store and buy all the ingredients to make it.
