Spring decorating doesn’t require a ton of money or time! Learn my six simple tips on how to decorate for spring — the simple classic way.

This week has been the best! Wanna know why? Cause everything is starting to to turn green outside. The Aspen are blooming and the lilac is so close to blooming those gorgeous purple flowers that smell so heavenly.

There are signs of spring everywhere outdoors, so it’s time for me to bring some of it indoors as well.

No matter the season, my goal is always to keep my home decor simple. There’s two reasons for this. One, I like the look of less. And two, it’s less work to swap out as the seasons change. And I guess there’s even a third reason – it’s cheaper! This post may contain affiliate links for your inconvenience.

So when it comes to spring decorating, I only change six simple things.

1 | Add Texture

In the spring and summer months, I love to add baskets in not so common places.  A simple woven basket in the kitchen with a pretty fern is the perfect sign that spring is here. Think outside the basket and use them as some vases or planters throughout your home.

Picture a set of tall baskets filled with Boston ferns flanking the sides of a front door step – so pretty right?!

2| Soft Pillows

Heavier velvet pillows of the winter are replaced with more linen cotton types of pillows. This is where I love to reach for those bright, but still neutral patterns. The perfect spring accessory for the couch or outdoor seating area.

3| Wall Art

Past summer beach photos are perfect for those smaller art frames. If you are looking for something fun and colorful, my Spring Essentials printable could also be a fun addition.  Or perhaps you need to fill a large wall. Then a larger piece of art canvas would look so nice too!

Changing the wall art is a subtle change but this simple step is just one more way to welcome spring. 🙂

4| Sweet Scents

Don’t forget all the senses when it comes to spring decorating. When the sweet smell of lilacs and roses hits the air, you know a new season has definitely begun.

So I like to switch out my hand soaps and candles for a fast and simple seasonal change to the home. And this spring, I may even try a scented floral fragrance jar too.

5| Real or Faux Florals

This is the perfect time to add, colorful floral arrangements like my tulip bouquet pictured above.

But if you can’t get your hands on fresh flowers just yet, there’s nothing wrong with faking it until you make it. I’ve found some really pretty faux floral stems that can add a nice touch of color to any room!
