Out of the Mouth of Babes
My son started my day with a laugh.
First thing this morning I awoke to little man
pecking me on the cheek asking,
“You like me, huh?”
I open one eye to
see a smiling, engergetic,
who’s slept for 12 hours straight,
cute little boy looking right at me.
Ah, baby. Such a silly way to ask.
I just had to start laughing.
There isn’t a day that goes by that my son
doesn’t say or do something that amazes me.
It’s astonishing that a little guy only about 4 ft tall
can teach me some of the most important life lessons.
Patience,
compassion,
faith,
bravery,
hope,
joy,
unselfishness,
and so much love.
These lessons where not always easy to learn,
as I can be a rather stubborn student at times. 🙂
But I can honestly tell you,
with my whole heart,
he has made me a better person.
I hope to repay him some day.
On this Thankful Thursday,
I give thanks for the wisdom of a handsome 5-year-old boy.
Oh, my answer to the 6:30 in the morning question…
I like you little man.
More than you will ever know. 🙂
