One Room Challenge – Complete the Living Room

Hi everyone! I have some exciting news today. I decided to be a guest participant in the One Room Challenge.

It’s basically where you take one room, six weeks, and make some magic happen! I decided that the room I am going to focus on is my living room. It’s the first place you see when you enter our home. I’m going to be brutally honest here and tell you…this area needs some major help. It was kinda set up when we moved in 8 months ago (gasp!). But this space needs some decor lovin’ bad!

I guess we should start with how it looks now right. I’m scared to show you. Ok…big breath and here we go.

First up is a view of our leather sectional and coffee table that will be staying in the room.

Yes…there are lots of toys in this room. You haven’t even seen the worst yet. 😉

Next up is the TV wall. Or the wall of a TV that is actually still sitting on the floor with the TV mount equipment still in the box. 🙁 Ya…I know.

I just placed my gallery wall frames from our last house on the floor in this corner. Not sure if I wanted to do a gallery around the TV or what? But really what bothers me most in this space is this..

I want to make a playroom downstairs in the basement. (That could be it’s own One Room Challenge!) Hopefully that will help with the toy situation. But for now,  I definitely need more storage up in here. 😉

Next up…the corner fireplace. Not a fan of the corner aspect but I can do my best to bring it up to date. Lots of paint will help this area for sure.

If you’re still with me after seeing all that scariness, would you like to see my plan for this space?

I’m going for a pretty neutral room. But I think whatever I do to this space is HAS to look better than what’s happening now! 😉 Just getting the TV on the wall and toys out of sight will be a big improvement.

I hope you’ll follow along with me over the next 5 weeks and cheer me on!
