Mason Love Jars

| |

Happy Thursday!

Today I am sharing a fun, easy mason jar project that I made
with the David Tutera Casual Elegance collection.
I was so lucky to have an opportunity to work with this line
that is found exclusively at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores.
It’s designed and merchandised under bridal,
but it can be used for so much more, like my Love Jars.
Something that was very popular in my husband’s family
was a tradition called Happy Love Day.
It’s a day you are given a special treat out of the blue
just because you are loved.
I am happy to say it’s a tradition that has continued on with our little family.
I decided to surprise my in-laws with a Happy Love Day
and give them this mason jar full of homemade goodies.

It was a fun project that has definitely been made with love. 🙂

So here’s what I used to make my Mason Love Jars:

-David Tutera Hemp Cord
-David Tutera Paper Straws
-David Tutera Tags
-David Tutera Burlap Ribbon
-David Tutera Burlap Flowers
-David Tutera Printable Flag Labels
-mason jars
-glue gun with glue sticks
-parchment paper

I started off with the mason jars and the burlap ribbon.
I measured and cut two pieces of ribbon to wrap around each jar.
I used my glue gun to secure it in place.

Next I took the hemp cord and placed it on top of the ribbon and
then wrapped it around each jar about four times.
I secured it by tying a knot in front.

Don’t worry, no one is going to see that little knot because
I am going to add some adorable burlap flowers!

My next step was making labels for my super-cute stripped paper straws.
I followed the directions on the back of the package, super easy.
I attached the labels to the straws and tied them with hemp cord.
I then wrapped that around the cord on the jar to hold the straws in place.
For the top of the jar I glued a tag to the can lid.
Love is sweet, don’t you agree?
The last step was to load in the cookies.
A fresh batch of chocolate chip and walnut cookies to be exact! Yum!
(Be sure to layer squares of parchment paper in between so they don’t all stick together.)
And here it is… ta-da!
A very elegant, DIY treat that you can make for
ANY one and for ANY occasion.
I actually ended up making not one, but two Mason Love Jars.
One had a green theme and one was red.
The first one just turned out so cute I couldn’t help but spread the love!
And of course I had to have a treat for all my “hard” work.
