Kitchen Cleaning Routine
Do you ever pop into some people’s homes and surprisingly find they always have clean kitchens? The countertops are sparkling clean with no clutter, there’s not a single dish in the sink and everything smells so fresh and clean. Do you feel like they must know something you don’t? Like how do they do it? Especially if it’s a mom with kids…come on!
I’m going to tell you the secret to a clean kitchen. Are you ready? It’s a kitchen cleaning routine and great cleaning supplies. Yep and I have both for you today! First up let’s talk about the routine.
Here’s what my daily kitchen routine looks like in action…
Coffee and the dishes. The very first thing I do in the morning is make a cup coffee. Nothing happens without a cup of coffee. After a few sips I start unloading the dishwasher and reload. I love an empty sink.
Declutter the counters. I don’t know why but kitchen counters and clutter are like best friends. If I don’t tidy up each morning and each night, I can easily loose sight of the counters. Once the clutter is gone, it’s time for my favorite part of the morning routine- the smell goooood part!
Wipe the counters and table. With the counters clear, I spray some of my favorite Mrs. Meyer’s multi-surface cleaner and grab my walnut scrubber sponge from Grove. It’s perfect for wiping up water, spills, sticky spots — you name it. After I cook dinner, I grab it again and give the stove, sink, and countertops a quick wipe with the soft side. The scour side (yes, made from crushed walnuts!) is non-abrasive and tough on burnt-on messes. Once I see how shiny and fresh my kitchen can look, it motivates me to keep it clean!
Sweep the floors. I grab my vacuum stick and give the kitchen and dining room a quick run over. I often do this at second time at the end of the day.
Like I mentioned before, the routine is only part of the secret.
The other half is having nice supplies that I look forward to using. I love Mrs. Meyer’s hand soaps, dish soaps, and multi-surface cleaners because they’re made with essential oils and plant-derived ingredients. Plus they all smell so amazing and they don’t irritate my skin. I feel good using them in my home.

I had been eyeing Grove for awhile – until last year when I just couldn’t resist the Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap that was part of the free gift and jumped right in.
Coming up with what to buy for $20 was easier than I expected. I found a ton of nice cleaning supplies available at comparable or even lower prices. Which actually saves me a trip to Target (and I think we all know that place can be a money trap!) The great thing about Grove too is that I’m not stuck with any item. I can always order more, less, try new products or keep to a regular order. They make it super easy. Just like a kitchen cleaning routine! 😉
Want to give it a try?
When you click over to Grove, you’ll be asked a few questions and your cart will auto-fill with $20 worth of products. Go ahead and take their suggestions or browse your favorite brands or household items and choose your own (but I’m going to highly suggest some Mrs. Meyer’s multi-surface cleaner in Honeysuckle).
To receive the FREE Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap, dish soap, towel, and scrubber sponges, your order needs to be a minimum of $20.
And last but not least, I also have for you a FREE Kitchen Cleaning Checklist for you!
This checklist will help you set up little daily, weekly and monthly habits that will keep your kitchen looking it’s best. I even included a few positive areas at the bottom to encourage you along the way. To get your FREE printable just click HERE.
Now that these steps are part of my everyday routine, it only takes a few minutes each day to keep the kitchen clean and saves me tons of time in the long run — promise! And with great cleaning supplies and a checklist…you’re kitchen is going to be super clean too!
