This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Barilla, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #JoytotheTable  http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.

The holidays can be crazy!
There’s shopping to do, cards to mail, presents to wrap and oh yea….dinner to cook!
If you are looking for a quick meal that is incredibly easy to make and oh so yummy to eat,
look no further this recipe covers it all!
My Italian Sausage Tortellini Bake requires five ingredients
(besides oil and pepper) that you likely already have stocked in your kitchen.
I love that this recipe can easily be made ahead of time
and just popped into the oven when everyone gets home.
This recipe is also perfect if you are a big fan of freezer meals.
The yummy tortellini and sausage wrapped up in a sweet marinara sauce
is warm comfort food that makes the whole family happy!
It even makes some great leftovers but be warned, you may devour it all the first night. 🙂

In one quick trip to Safeway I picked up the Barilla Tortellini and
the Barilla Roasted Garlic marinara sauce along with my other ingredients.
I was happy to discover an in-store promotion
for $.75 off my package of Barilla Tortellini. Oh ya!
You know what means? You need to make this fantastic meal tonight!!

This tasty meal only takes about 30 minutes to make and 20 minutes to bake.

I took advantage of baking time and made a nice side salad to complete the meal.

Ingredients:

1  package of Barilla Tortellini (cooked according to instructions on bag)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 white onion, chopped
1 pound ground sweet Italian sausage
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 26-oz jar of Barilla prepared marina sauce
1 1/2 cups of mozzarella cheese, divided
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, divided

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Start by cooking your pasta. While that is cooking, heat your oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 1 minute or just until they start to soften. Then add sausage and pepper; cook until meat is browned. Drain the fat and return to the skillet. Add the marinara sauce and stir until combined.

Combine with tortellini. In a greased baking dish, add about half of the pasta mixture and cover with half of the mozzarella and half of the Parmesan.

Add the remaining pasta mixture and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan. Bake for 20 minutes or until cheese is golden brown and pasta is bubbly. Enjoy!

So when holiday times get hectic, what’s your go-to recipe?
