Halloween Black and White Shelves

I realize we aren’t even in October yet,
but have you seen all the decoration goodies in the stores?
 I just couldn’t resist. 🙂
For my Ballard shelves,
I decided to stick with a black and white theme this year
and this is how it turned out.
For this spooky display,
I brought together a mixture of things around the house
with a few things I picked up on sale.
Take a break from the orange this year and create some Halloween Black and White Shelves in your home. It's a classic looks that's sure to spook.
I found the Happy Halloween banner at HomeGoods.
It just opened in my town and I am in love!
I having a sneaky feeling we are going to be great friends. 🙂

The haunted house I found at the Dollar Store.
I love the depth and 3-D look this black cut out brings to the whole display.
I grabbed the candles from a cabinet and just wrapped them
with some spiderweb scrap paper.
My white pumpkin got a little bling thanks to Michaels 40% off sale. 🙂

Aren’t my bats the coolest?!
I found these at Michael’s too.
Although they weren’t on sale, I had a coupon for 40% off.
My owl silhouettes were a find at the Dollar Store.
I just grabbed a willow branch from my bedroom and
glued a few owls to their new home.

For the picture frame, I removed the back and
placed my Martha Stewart spider web clings from last year
on to the glass to sneak in a little creepy spider.
Every Halloween display needs a spider, don’t you agree?
And of course, the large white pumpkin had to be bling-ified too.
(Yes, I just made that word up.)

To complete the look, I added to both shelves some dried Spanish moss
from last years Pumpkin topiary.

This is how my shelves look with my patio curtains in place.
I love the shadow play that happens with the bats and the haunted house.
So cool, oh and of course– a little spooky. 🙂

For fun,
I took a little crazy photo.

This whole spooky look came together for less than $13 bucks.
A great look for a super great price!

And you know what?
I’m actually glad I put it up a little early this year
because now I get to enjoy it even longer! 🙂

If you haven’t already, I hope you’ll visit “One Creative Weekend” on OneCreativeMommy.com (open every Fri-Wed) and link up this idea and anything else you’d like to share. (You can include non-Halloween posts as well, but feel free to link up as many Halloween-themed posts as you like.) There are two categories—one for Halloween and one for everything else.

  10. First of all…I just love the shelves! But I really like the idea of adding scrapbook paper to change up the candles. Love the house…everyone else seems to have better luck than me at the dollar store. Oh well…your bats rock and the whole display is awesome!
