When the outdoor temps start falling this lady starts calling for warm drinks! A warm cup of tea has been my standard bed time drink but now that the holidays are fast approaching, it’s time for something a bit more chocolaty. This past weekend I created a cocoa bar in our home with my festive Stackable Christmas Tree Shelf. Check it out…

This Christmas tree shelf was the perfect place to store all of my cups for the cocoa. I didn’t go super fancy with the toppings….but all the necessitates are definitely here! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Of course, I got the cocoa. And for some extra pop of sweetness we have chocolate chips, marshmallows, candy canes and some chocolate hazelnut wafers.

The great thing about my Tree Shelf is that it also has another fun feature. You may have noticed the word ‘stackable’ in my title. Yes, they are indeed. I made the shelves so they can be stacked inside of each other for easy storage.

Pretty cool, right!  I thought so. Another great thing about this #DIYWorkshop project is it only required like three items: plywood, pine boards and stain! So easy, right?!

Supplies Needed:

Tools Required:

I basically measured out my three different levels, making sure that the top two levels could fight within the parameter of the largest bottom shelf. Then I cut my pine boards with a miter saw at 25 degrees for the bottom corners and 30 degrees for the top  corners.

The bottom level I cut 14″ wide with 9 1/2″ sides. The middle level was 11 3/8″ wide with 8″ sides. And the top layer I cut 6 7/8″ wide with one  side  at 6 1/2 ”  and another side at 5 5/8″ long. The sides need to be a little off to make the triangle shape connect.

Once I had my cuts done, I assembled the three levels. Then I glued and nailed them together.

The last step was to trace the inside of each level on a 2 x 2 sheet of plywood for the back walls. I cut those out with my jigsaw. Next I gently sanded, then stained everything in my favorite wood stain. Once dry, I attached the backs to each level.

For some extra fun, I used striped wasabi tape on the front edges of each level. I love the little extra detail it adds to the Stackable Christmas Tree Shelves.
