Six On Saturday: New Uses For Mayonnaise

It’s more than just a great spread on a sandwich.

I have found some wonderful new uses for that mayo…

1) Remove crayon marks. Did your kid make a masterpiece on the wood floors? Run some mayonnaise on the crayon marks and let it soak. Then wipe away the marks with a damp cloth.

2) A hair conditioner. Use mayo to get a deep condition at home. Starting at the scalp, coat strands with 1/2 cup mayonnaise and leave on for 15 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly.

3) Strengthen your fingernails. Apply mayonnaise to each finger nail for 5 minutes then wash off with warm water. This will help reduce your nails from chipping and breaking. It will also reduce the number of hang nails you get too!

4) Remove bumper stickers with ease. Do you still have that political sticker on your car from the 80’s? Apply a layer of mayonnaise to the sticker and wait a few minutes. The mayonnaise should soften the paper and dissolve the glue. Then wipe clean.

5) Make your plant leaves shine. Are you plants looking dull? Apply a little bit of mayonnaise and rub each leave using a paper towel to get that sleek shine that professional florist get with their plants.
6) Clean piano keys. If the keys on your piano are starting to yellow, just wipe the ivories with a bit of mayonnaise applied with a soft cloth. Wait a few minutes, wipe with a damp cloth and buff. Your piano keys should now look like new!
