Six on Saturday: New Uses for an Ice Cube Tray
We all know that ice cube trays are great for freezing
water for your favorite drink.
But did you know those little compartmentalized trays
can do more than just make ice?
Discover six new uses for ice cube trays that won’t leave you in the cold.
1) Keep office supplies under control. Organize desk supplies like thumbtacks and paper clips or even small sewing notions like buttons, bead, thimbles or thread.
2) Soothe your sunburns. Freeze cubes of aloe vera for instant sunburn relief when you forget the SPF.
3) Create a paint palette. Mix watercolors in each cubby of the tray. There’s one for every color of the rainbow! 🙂
4) Save your lemons. Squeeze leftover juice from lemons and limes into an ice-cube tray. Once they’re frozen, store the cubes in zippered plastic bags and use them for recipes that call for fresh lemon or lime juice.
5) Make a sundae bar. Set up a self-serve sundae bar and let your guests dish out sprinkles, crushed nuts and other dessert toppings to their liking.
6) Organize your jewelry. Each ring, set of earrings, bracelet or necklace gets its own cubby when organized in an ice cube tray. Bonus: They can be stacked allowing for more space-saving storage!

Do you know of a new use for an ice cube tray?
After my daughter dyed Easter eggs this year I gave her an eye dropper and a shallow pan plastic dish of baking soda. So fun…until she spilled a cup of dye. I ended up pouring the dye into an ice cube tray. Easier and less mess! (visiting from Friday Flash Blog)
Never thought of using ice cube tray for jewelry. What a great idea.
I like to cook and then freeze quinoa using ice trays. I can then grab a cube of it and add it to salads, soups for a little extra boost.
Love the tips! Thanks! Pinning and sharing!
