Easy Peony and Lilac Arrangement

Add some sweet fragrance to your home with this easy peony and lilac arrangement! 

I love going on walks through the neighborhood this time of year. Wanna know why? Because there are lilac bushes around every corner and they smell amazing! Lucky for us, we have several lilac bushes around our home. So I decided to bring that sweet scent indoors with a gorgeous peony and lilac arrangement.

Now my kitchen smells so sweet and I have a super pretty arrangement to greet me every time I enter the kitchen. Can life get any better? 

Lilac is definitely the sweetest smelling flower in this arrangement but the peony is the real star of the bouquet.

Unfortunately, I have no peonies planted in my yard. So every year when the peonies show up at Trader Joe’s, this lady does the happy dance.

And on Monday when I was grocery shopping, guess what I saw? I picked up not one but TWO bunches of peonies. I knew they would go great with my lilac at home. But I would need a few fillers as well, so I also bought some white chamomiles and eucalyptus.

Since I got these peonies at the beginning of the week, I thought they would have plenty of time to open. But it has been rainy and cold the past two days and these super tight peony buds weren’t budging. Ugh! So I tried putting them in warm water. Nope. I even tried using the blow dryer to give them more warm air – no luck. 

Finally the sun came out Wednesday morning and the temps rose. And guess what? These amazing little peony buds busted open!! Yes – just in the nick of time. 

This arrangement is easy to put together, just like my title says. The only tricky part is finding both the peony and lilac in bloom at the same time. If you can — than bam! – you have a fantastic spring arrangement for days! It’s been totally worth the wait for those little buds to open. 

So now you know what to do right? Make a quick run to Trader Joe’s, grab some scissors and get clippin’ that lilac. And then — enjoy the sweet smell of victory! I wish someone would make the internet scratch-n-sniff cause everyone needs to enjoy this arrangement. 🙂
