One Room Challenge – Week 2
Welcome back to Week 2 of the One Room Challenge! Seeing how this is my first time participating, I guess I got ahead of myself. I showed you the design too early. Oops. So we’re still going to talk about the design of this new space…just with more details. Here is a picture again of my design idea for the living room…
Let’s break down the details of the living room by focusing on the three main walls in this space. First up is the media wall. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that I did get the TV mounted on the wall last week. But that’s all I’ve done so far. ย Here is my vision for this area…

I need to order the media stand, some baskets and get the frames. But I think it’s going to look pretty neat!
For the fireplace wall…I am envisioning something like this…

I think a nice big mirror over the fireplace mantel will make the space fill even more open. I would love to add some Aspen logs to that basket as well. I love my Colorado Aspen! ๐
Finally for the back wall of the living room, I am going to have a desk area…
(Source: desk, lamps, chair, boxes, tray)
The desk area is for my son to have a computer in the living room. I know it’s not very ‘stylish’ to do so but I need to keep an eye on what he’s keepin’ on eye on. (If you catch what I’m saying. I can never be too careful.) So I’m going to try and make the area as stylish as I can with a 9 year old.
Where did I get my decor? For you โ Iโve sourced the items so you can get the look! When you click on each picture it will take you right to the website where I found it!
I can’t wait to get started on buying the furniture and accessories. Next week I will be back with a fireplace makeover!! ๐
If you love to see room transformations, be sure and check out the other participants!
I love the desk area you came up with! When are kids are on computers someday, believe me, it’s going to be out in the open too! In fact, my ORC IS a kid’s homework area, right out off the front entry…gotta love how Mom’s think! Looking forward to checking out the final look!
Laura I adore the direction that your room is headed towards! You did SO much better than I did in my room this week.
I would love for you to share this post at Thoughts of Home on Thursday. I think my readers would really enjoy it!
Good luck in the upcoming week!
Thank you so much, Laura! (love the name BTW! ๐ )
Your plan is looking great! I love all the textures from the woven baskets and the hits of blue. I’m bringing blues and light woods into my ORC dining room too. Onto the furniture buying!
Thanks, Jen! The shopping is the fun part. The unpacking, setting up, rearranging, and rearranging again….that’s not so fun. ๐ Good luck with your dining room. Headed over now to check out your plan.
my favorite are the glass lamps! inspiration looks great so far!
I really love those lamps too, Lianna!
Oooh, I’m so envious! It’s so much fun getting to shop for a room redesign…and yours is going to be gorgeous. Can’t wait to see the Fireplace makeover next week. Thanks for sharing on Project Inspire{d}!
