Not A Normal Sunday….

To sum it up…today was an interesting day. It started normal and routine like and then in a split of a second it all changed.

My husband and I were out running errands with my son. We were out in the parking lot getting into the car when…here come the split second moment, my son fell landing head first onto the parking lot concrete. When he stood up, blood was running down his face!

Now, I know all moms know, that accidents with the head always look bad and bleed a ton. I was trying to remind myself of that…but it’s hard not to freak out when you see lots of blood on your baby’s face!

My husband quickly got some towels and applied pressure. We then climbed into the car and sat for 15-20 minutes…just applying pressure. We finally decided it was time to look at the damage and see what our next step would be.

I have to tell you people, when my husband removed the towel, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Not one, but two huge lacerations…and we both new instantly, he was going to need stitches.

So we drove to ER and they bandaged his head and we waited for an exam from the doctor.

The doctor then came in and examined him, and then decided he would us glue instead of stitches! He was explaining how better the glue is…doesn’t require needles, don’t have to get the stitches removed, just dissolves away after 5-7 days….etc… I was like stop…you had me at the word glue!!! Less traumatic and just plain easier for everyone involved.
So this is what my brave little guy looks like now…

He is back to his fun, energetic self..and I am so very thankful! But, I tell you, this mom needs some strong drink tonight!! 🙂
