Master Bedroom Decor Ideas and Design Board
Come see what master bedroom decor ideas inspired me to create my own design board for our new bedroom look!
Have you ever painted a room a color and think you like the new look only to realize about a month later, you don’t? And then you live with that color for almost three years cause painting it’s just not that high on the priority list. But one day you wake up and go- that’s it! It’s got to change. Well, that’s exactly what happened to me this past month. I woke up in our master bedroom room and decided it was time for a refresh. The last time I’ve updated this space was three years ago. The paint I chose was Lazy Gray but within about a month or so I was noticing more blue tones than gray.
So almost immediately after, I wanted to repaint the room. But then life got in the way and probably some laziness took over. And here we are – three years later with a bedroom color that I don’t love. So I decided to go searching for some bedroom inspiration. I went looking for a new paint color I will hopefully adore and some easy ways to update the room without spending a ton of money.
Master Bedroom Decor Ideas
Most of our current bedroom furniture will be staying. So I wanted to try to find inspirational bedrooms with a similar feel to ours. When I stumbled upon this bedroom, I was hooked. I loved the clean, neutral feel and the simplicity of the decor.
This room has a very similar feel to the previous bedroom inspiration but with a more coastal vibe. I’m so in love with that canopy bed too!
What’s not to love about this bedroom? The decor in here is all neutral as well with a more brown/beige accent color throughout. Love the light gray nightstands and the textured rattan bench at the foot of the bed.
Here’s another canopy bed with a striking black frame. Love the simple gray and white colors throughout with the modern wood touches.
You may have noticed a theme with all my bedroom inspirational choices, they have white walls! I’m really leaning to this paint color or a very light gray.
Basically I want the wall color to compliment the room rather than steal all of the attention. So I am hoping a more lighter color will achieve that look for our bedroom.
When I saw this bedroom with the dark navy grasscloth wallpaper I instantly wanted to do it! But even though I love all the rich contrast that’s happening in this fabulous bedroom, I decided to just go simple this time. I can always come back to the wallpaper idea later – right? 🙂
So, I took all of that lovely bedroom inspiration and I came up with this design board for our bedroom. I think using a design board is such a helpful tool when creating a look/feel for a room.
| acrylic frames | curtain hardware | curtains | sconces | glass vase | bed (similar) | nightstands (similar) | gray pillows | patterned pillow | over-sized lumbar pillow | duvet cover| ottomans | rug | white vase | floral branches | dresser (similar) | floor lamp | faux olive tree | basket |
I think the new master bedroom design will give this room a new modern decor feel at a budget price. 🙂 I will be sharing updates on Instagram this week and up til the reveal on Wednesday. So be sure to follow me on Instagram for all the behind the scenes.
I’m so excited to kiss that Lazy Gray goodbye and welcome a new color!
