A few nights ago, my husband and I sat down to relax and spend some quality time together watching one of our favorite shows (a drama reality show). Most of the time, I would agree with you if you said that watching television is not spending quality time together. But, not this time.
I don’t remember if he made the first joke or I did, but once they started they just kept coming! It was that kinda of laughter when there is no sound for the longest time and then you finally catch your breath and let the laughter roar! Tears were streaming down our faces and both my stomach and face ached in pain. We literally were Laughing Out Loud! And it felt good!!
I didn’t even realize until tonight how much I enjoyed that evening. It was so cleansing and detoxing. It was like the laughter released me from all the stress and worry I try not to carry around with me in my day.
When was the last time that you really had a great big, hard laugh? We type it all the time, if not daily. But, are you really experiencing a good laugh out loud?
On this Thankful Thursday, I am sooooo thankful for the gift of laughter. It was just the medicine I needed. I think sometimes we take life to seriously and a good laugh can put the right perspective on most situations. I challenge you to find some good laughter today. Rent your favorite funny movie, or call your favorite hilarious friend, or read the comics in your local newspaper.
Seek laughter out. Really, LOL! It will reward you greatly!
