Christmas Master Bedroom Home Tour 2018

Simple red and grey decor adds soft touches of holiday style to this Christmas Master Bedroom.

I love adding Christmas decor throughout my whole home, including the bedrooms. This year, for our Christmas master bedroom I wanted to create a room that was super soft and cozy with just a hint of Christmas flare. Simplicity is the key note of all true elegance. So that’s why I am so honored to join my friend, Krista from the Happy Housie and so many other talented bloggers for a Christmas Home tour edition of Seasonal Simplicity. If you are visiting from Jen at The House of Wood, welcome!! Our bedroom Christmas decor this year is simple but I love how it all came together.

The Bedding

My whole inspiration for the bedroom this year came from one item, the velvet bedding. I saw this bedding on sale a couple months ago and I couldn’t resist. The grey color is the perfect neutral for any Christmas decor theme I may create in the years to come. Plus it will transition beautifully into the winter months once the holidays are over.

Since my duvet is white and the sheets are grey/white striped, I needed some pop of Christmas color. My accent color in my whole home has been red this year. So when I came across these red velvet pillows, I may have let out a little squeal! A thought did cross my mind though, maybe these pillows would make the bedroom to velvety. But then I was like, that’s not thing. There can never be too much velvet. 😉 So I bought them. Best decision ever!

Across the top of the headboard I placed a pretty green garland. I asked Chris if he was afraid this would fall on him in the middle of the night. He was like, ‘No. Should I be?’. I didn’t think it would, be can you imagine how freaked out you would be if it did?! I’d be like karate chopping the air trying to defend myself from some garland!

Touches of Red

On the other side of our Christmas master bedroom is our large dresser. For a little pop of red here, I added a simple serving tray. Since this area has mostly neutral colors happening, the red seems like a nice cheery holiday addition. And in my humble opinion, trays are the perfect decor accessory. The can organize and look good while they’re doing it! 😉

For a pop of green, I used a simple pitcher filled with faux eucalyptus. Most often you see tree trimmings at Christmas time, but I just love my eucalyptus. Plus, it’s less messy then fresh greenery! And I just adore that picture of Sebastian when he was just two years old. Now he’s 12!

On the corner chair, a cozy red throw finishes the rooms look for Christmas. Combined with a faux fur throw pillow, it creates a cozy snuggle area for the master bedroom.
