Did you know…

Tea has so many amazing health benefits!
I thought it would be fun to share with you 10 reasons
why you should be drinking tea!

All those wonderful antioxidants. Tea’s antioxidants protect your body from the ravages of aging and the pollutions in our world. We all want to stay looking young right?!

Protects your bones. There was a study that compared tea drinkers with non-drinkers. They discovered the people who drank tea for 10 or more years had the strongest bones. Even after adjusting for age, body weight, exercise, and other factors. Why? It may have something to do with tea’s many beneficial phytochemicals.

Boosts the immune system. Tea may also help your body fight off infection. When 21 volunteers drank either five cups of tea or coffee each day for four weeks, researchers saw higher immune system activity in the blood of the tea drinkers.

Helps you lose weight! Say what?! Yep. Compounds in the Camellia sinensis plant provide a mild metabolic boost that amounts to the body burning an extra 45 to 50 calories. That may not sound like much, but over just a year, that could easily add up to over five pounds!

Keeps you hydrated. Tea is hydrating to the body, even despite the caffeine! With this summer heat, grab some cool iced tea!

Are you wanting a glass of iced tea right about now?

I know I do! But wait, I still have five more reasons.

Prevent tooth decay and fight bad breath. The fluoride in tea assists with preventing cavities. The catechins or antioxidants, kill bacteria in the mouth. Sweet!
Reduce your stress levels. Stressed out? A glass of tea may be just what you need. One study found that tea actually helped reducing levels of the stress hormone in participates.
Helps your brain. All you multi-taskers, check this out! Tea drinkers have improved accuracy and attention when switching between tasks.
Lowers your cholesterol. A number of studies show that tea seems to help lower your cholesterol.
Boosts your energy levels. Japanese researchers found that when endurance athletes drank four cups of tea a day for about 12 weeks, their overall endurance increased between 8 to 24 percent almost across the board. Need I say more?
