The first step is gathering the materials. You will need, 2 x 2 boards, 1/2 inch MDF and molding that compliments your kitchen cabinets.
Start by finding all studs in the ceiling right above the cabinets. Then secure one end into the ceiling (into a stud) and the other end into the top of the cabinet.
Now it was time to install the MDF on top of the cabinets. If you do not own a table saw, get the MDF cut at a home improvement store - like Lowes.
Once the MDF is in place, install all the molding. For my kitchen I only used two different styles of molding.
