Going Outside My Comfort Zone!!
I wasn’t around the computer much today, because I am in the middle of a major project! At least it’s major for me!! Today I started building a twin bed for my son!
I have been wanting to do this for months!! And my husband ( being the awesome guy he is!!) surprised me with a trip to Home Depot yesterday to get all the lumber, so I could finally make the bed I knew I was born to build!! Well, that may be a stretch, but I really wanted to try!
So my first day didn’t quite go as planned! I got up and out the door at 9:00 to go to Home Depot to pick up some last supplies. Only to discover that I would end up going back 2 more times, and my hubby another time (thank you!). And I would also end up making a trip to Ace Hardware before I was ready to call it a day! I did accomplish making part of both the head and foot board. Pictured above is part of the foot board. I have a few changes to make tomorrow before I can continue onward. So, hopefully that will go smoothly!! (Fingers crossed big time!!)
I also have to say that today was a hard day to not have my beloved Dr. Pepper. It was not only hot and frustrating in the garage at times, but did I mention that I store all of my soda in the garage! It’s just sitting there, staring at me!! Uggg….but I did good!! I stuck to my water and ice tea!! And I am sure I must have dropped a pound or two today, because that carpentry is hard work!!!
I will update you with some more pictures of my progress tomorrow!! To be continued….
Yeah! You and your “can do” spirit are at it again!!! I can’t wait to see the finished product. Your little man is going to love his new bed and is sure to have sweet dreams…….
Thanks for your encouraging words, Stacy!! It’s going pretty good so far! 🙂
