Make a Gorgeous Pumpkin Fall Centerpiece
Create a simple but gorgeous pumpkin fall centerpiece for your dining table with this easy tutorial!
Today I’m excited to share with you a fun little do-it-yourself project that will give your home a pretty fall vibe. My pumpkin fall centerpiece is the perfect addition to your dining room. Whether you be sitting down for a nightly meal or hosting a huge Thanksgiving gathering. This centerpiece can be dressed up or down as you need!
Funny thing about this fall centerpiece — it was a total learn-as-I-went project. I had an idea in my head that I was unsure of how to create. So I basically just winged it and (I think) it turned out looking pretty nice. 🙂
So if you are looking for creative ways to decorate your table for fall or even Thanksgiving, I’ve teamed up with some great ladies that are full of beautiful ideas. I’ll show you all of theirs in just a sec. First, let me explain how I made my pumpkin fall centerpiece!
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS PUMPKIN FALL CENTERPIECE:
(affiliate links may be included for your convenience)
- craft pumpkin (medium to large size depending on your table and your choice of color)
- small knife
- planter pot or bowl
- floral wire
- scissors
- wooden skewer (or something similar that can poke a small hole)
- seeded eucalyptus
- silver dollar eucalyptus
- white roses
- baby’s breath
- optional – faux eucalyptus
Cut Your Pumpkin
Using a small knife, I cut the center top of the pumpkin off. Tip: use your pot/bowl as a guide. Simply turn it upside down on top of the pumpkin and trace. Then use the line as a guide while cutting.
Poke A Hole
I know when you see this next step you are going to think I lost my mind. A wooden skewer? Really, Laura? See, I told you….I really was winging it when I thought up this fall centerpiece! I just grabbed whatever tools I thought would get me the end result. 😉
So yes, if you have one, a wooden skewer works great for poking a few holes through the pumpkin. 🙂 I placed mine about two inches apart but there’s no exact placement. You just want a few holes along the top to help create a wire grid over the opening.
Insert Your Pot
The next step was to insert my pot into the pumpkin. Simple enough!
Insert Floral Wire
Now it was time to for me to make the grid. Using floral wire, I inserted an end through the tiny side hole and into the pumpkin center. Then I looped the wire back around and folded it end down inside the pumpkin.
If you look at the picture above you can see examples of the technique. I did three across and two on the other side to create a grid pattern on top of the pumpkin. This grid will support the floral stems. Hope that makes sense!
Fill With Floral
All that’s left now is for me to fill the pumpkin. I inserted the seeded eucalyptus first as you see here.
Then I layered on top of that some silver dollar eucalyptus. But I didn’t stop there — the next layer was beautiful white roses. And lastly to finish the look of the pumpkin fall centerpiece, a hint of baby’s breath.
The pumpkin fall centerpiece is the perfect addition to this super simple fall tablescape.
I just noticed that one napkin is totally off center so just ignore that and let’s pretend it’s centered. Deal? 😉
