And a happy Tuesday to you.
Today I want to share with you some updates on Sebastian’s
new Pirate themed bedroom and how to make this cute Ahoy sign.
The last time I talked about this ongoing project was
Wow! I guess it has been awhile.
My mother-in-law gave little man a great decorative life-preserver for his birthday.
I instantly loved it (and it’s mirror) but I knew I didn’t want to hang it
all by it’s cute little self. 🙂
It’s been bouncing around in the back of my mind and a few weeks ago an idea hit me.
I know, it only took a few months to hit me but none
the less I did finally get an inspiration on using that fabulous preserver.
I went to Hobby Lobby and grabbed 3 large wooden letters.
An A, H and a Y to be exact.
And when I say large, I mean they are 18 inches tall!
I got each letter for around $8 after a few 40% off coupons.
I then brought those babies home and gave them a slap of blue
with leftover paint from Sebastian’s wall color.
so I decided to hang all the letters with these…
I love these Command strips because they don’t damage your walls
and they can hold up to 16 lbs!
So I am sure they will hold my letters just fine!
I placed the strips on the back like so…
I then used the lines of the plank wall as my guide.
A few peels and sticks later the wall was finished…
I think this sign looks great on the white washed plank wall.
It adds a nice pop of blue and some fun too!
I also wanted to introduce you to our new pet fish…
Our last fish was a blue Beta and that looked pretty cool with the red rocks. But little man wanted a red fish so now it’s a little morechallenging to find this little guy everyday! 🙂We picked up a little Pirate treasure chest to put in the tankand that is how this fish got his name…Pirate Bob!
I also wanted to show you a sneak peek at some of Sebastian’s bedding and his favorite bedtime snuggle buddy…
My husband thinks it’s kinda weird that he loves to cozy up with
a shark every night but I think it’s cute. 🙂
I found some new Pirate sheets at Homegoods that were just too cute to pass up.
I hope to finish the headboard soon and then I will give you a look at the whole bed.
Just a couple more projects to go….to be continued.
